Mark 7:20-23
And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.  For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,  thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.  All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

This is Jesus explaining in more depth the evil that comes from the heart. After they encountered the Pharisees while eating with unclean hands, Jesus corrected the damaging tradition and rightly defended His disciples from their deceit. Evil in our hearts come in many different thoughts, and many times those thoughts are driven by very powerful emotions, or find fuel in some unresolved past experience. Apart from Christ, we flee from the evil that rises up in our hearts. Sometimes running to Jesus is like running away from ourselves, because we must die to ourselves to truly live for Him.

I just want to repeat the good old saying that says ‘a burden shared is a burden halved’ for those of you who have faith the word tells us to cast our burdens onto the lord because he cares for us. So if this is true and I believe it is why is it that we as people are in the habit of picking up the very same burdens we cast and expecting different results in our situations?? maybe we should rethink that very scripture and understand that to cast means to lay off to put down to throw or hurl. So in other words it’s something that we are taught to get rid of in order that we feel lighter. So why not take a deep breath Inhale think of that thing, situaiton or care that may be burdening you down and blow , exhaling it out of your system and as far away from you as possible. The key to casting is to do it and not reel it back in again or yolk yourself with the same thing try it it is truly liberating.

TITLE: GO INTO ALL THE WORLD

Acts 1v8 But you shall receive power when the holy spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem ( local ) and in all Judea (national) Samaria (cross cultural) and to the end of the earth (international)

Jesus last earthly command begins with the promise that you shall receive power from the Holy ghost and ties this directly to the fact that  you shall be witnesses

We need to wait to receive his power to act as the early church did v4 – and being assembled together he commanded them not to go from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the father.

So once anointed you will have the power then to preach the good news and boldly declare Jesus as the son of God.

SALVATION – Jesus preached a kingdom message all were to be included. It did not matter what their background was or what their customs were.

The two main APOSTLES were PETER/ PAUL –ACTS

Rom 3v23-For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God

Rom 6v23-

Is 59v2-

  • Sin is to do something that displeases God
  • The natural life is centered upon self rather than on God
  • Sin is direct rebellion against God
  • Declaration of independence
  • breaking Gods law

  1. Grieves God-gen 6v5-7
  2. Brings Guilt –Ps 51v3-4
  3. Separation from God Is 59v1-2
  4. Judgment and everlasting punishment –Matt 25v46
  5. It enslaves –Rom 6v7
  6. Spiritual blindness-2 Cor4v4
  7. Death- Eph 2v1
  8. Lack of hope-Eph 2v12
  9. Corrupts-Titus 1v15

Faith leading to salvation implies various things

  • Commitment To God
  • Obedience From The Heart
  • Believing The Bible To Be The Word Of God
  • Total Trust In God
  • Believing In Jesus
  • Believing With The Heart
  • Accepting Jesus In Ones Life

  • To be made alive by the spirit of God
  • To see the kingdom –means to experience the reality of god
  • To know the love& forgiveness of God
  • To be able to live in the power of God as he lives in us by the holy Spirit

  • Always rely on the facts not feelings i.e. the word and witness of the Holy Spirit
  • At conversion the Holy spirit convicts of sin righteousness and judgement and brings about a new awareness of sin that was not thought of before
